A fost creată cea mai nimicitoare boală din istorie, ce ar putea ucide miliarde de oameni!

It was created most devastating disease in history, that could kill billions of people!
A Dutch researcher has created a virus that has the potential to kill half the world population. Now, researchers and experts in bioterrorism debate whether it is a good idea "recipe" virus to be published. However, several voices argue that such research should not take place.
The virus is an H5N1 avian influenza strain genetically modified to be more contagious. It was created by researcher Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the first presenting his work at a conference on influenza held in September in Malta.
Avian influenza emerged about 10 years ago in Asia, during which there were fewer than 600 infections in humans. But that worked Fouchier strain is extremely dangerous, killing about 50% of infected patients. This strain is not a global threat, as is transmitted from birds to humans difficult. Or at least, is difficult before it is transmitted genetically modified Fouchier.
Fouchier's team researchers used ferrets home as test animals, for they react in a similar way human flu virus. Researchers flu transmitted from a ferret to another, to make the virus more adaptable to new host. After 10 generations, the virus has mutated allowing him to send by air, which meant that ferrets could get sick just being in near another animal.
A genetic study showed that the new strain of virus had five changes from the original, and all these mutations were observed in nature - only separately, not all five at once. Designed by Fouchier strain is as contagious as seasonal human flu, which kills tens of thousands of people, only more lethal.
"I can not think of a pathogen to be as scary as this," commented Paul Keim, a microbial genetic specialist who worked for many years with the anthrax bacillus. "I think that anthrax does not at all scary when compared with the virus," he added.
Keim is the coordinator of the U.S. National Committee dedicated to biosecurity issues, and this body must now take a decision. Fouchier public wants to study that details how the virus was created and run by Keim Committee must approve this decision.
Many scientists are concerned about possible negative consequences of publication of this research, fearing that a bioterrorist might find useful in this study a recipe with which to terrorize the planet. Some even argue that such studies should not take place and require the establishment of an international body to monitor such dangerous research.
"It's a bad idea for scientists to make a lethal virus into a deadly and contagious virus. And it's a bad idea and to publish recipe detailing how they did it, so others can copy them," he said Dr. Thomas Inglesby, bioterrorism expert and director of the Center for Biosecurity at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
On the other hand, if the study will become available scientific community, it could allow researchers to prepare for a potential H5N1 pandemic, especially since Fouchier's study suggests that the risk of this to occur is greater than previously thought . Some researchers believe that will not allow the publication of this study, the world will be helpless if the contagious virus will occur naturally.
The decision on publication will be taken soon, says Keim, who concluded: "We have much to say about this research".
Most flu epidemic in human history occurred in 1918 when Spanish flu killed between 50 and 100 million people, or about 3% of world population. Approximately 500 million people were infected, ie 27% of world population.
